Globalization is an irreversible process. Globalization comprises many processes that simultaneously affect different areas: economy, media, politics and identities, migration and the environment. Globalization is a complex process that is not yet complete; it continuously evolves at a fast pace. In the context of higher professional education, this means that future professionals are becoming critical world citizens. In order to become a critical world citizen, it is necessary to acquire specific knowledge, competences and skills. Graduates of The Hague University of Applied Sciences will work in a globalized world and need to have an understanding of global processes and global development.
The goal of this minor is to provide an introduction to the many aspects and dimensions of globalization. The daily challenges faced today by a wide array of professionals are not entirely local or national, but are also connected to developments occurring in Europe and in the rest of the world. The working language of this minor is, of course, English.
