The international semester teaches you how to work in the context of international projects (e.g. project planning, working in [virtual] teams) and how to perform within international settings (communicating effectively in multicultural situations with colleagues and clients and empathizing with people with diverse backgrounds). As a practical assignment you will carry out individual research on a country of your choice. Site visits to selected organizations are also part of the course.
The focus of these visits is: ”how to act as a project manager or project member in an international setting”.
In the second part of the International semester you will carry out research in a project team with international students. You will be involved in setting up a social and cultural programme for visiting students from other universities. Also, you will visit (and study) major ICT-projects such as Rotterdam Harbour, Aalsmeer flower auction and the Delta works.
