Lecturers

The lecturers of the trainings in practice-oriented research of The Hague University of Applied Sciences have much experience in the field of scientific and applied research. They have PhDs in social sciences, have experience with research in Universities of Applied Sciences, and did research in commercial or non-profit settings. They have broad experience with teaching research methodologies. Through their years of experiences, they all have a unique view on applied research.

Karijn Nijhoff

Karijn Nijhoff PhD studied cultural anthropology and sociology in Utrecht. She wrote her PhD dissertation at Michigan State University. Her research involved a cross-national comparison between migration, economic mobility and the influence of the welfare state. She worked as a lecturer for master and PhD students in the field of methodology and statistics. Since 2007, she is a lecturer at The Hague University of Applied Sciences as a sociologist, research trainer and thesis coordinator at the bachelor of social work. She is a researcher in the field of migration at the lectorate of urban development.
