In addition, we also find the following important to be a successful lecturer:
- You have a minimum of two years’ experience teaching international sport topics and/or 5 years’ experience working in the international sport industry;
- You have excellent digital skills and can quickly adapt to new digital (learning) methods;
- You have completed a Master's degree in Sport Sociology / Management / Economics or a related field;
- You have a broad network in the international sport industry;
- You have the BDB (Foundation Course Didactic Competence) or equivalent international teaching qualification;
- You have a proficient level of English (minimum C1 level);
- You have a proficiency in Dutch (level B) or are willing to obtain this level.
- You currently live in the Netherlands or are willing to relocate to The Netherlands.
This is how you will contribute:
- You will be responsible for creating learning and teaching materials and you will deliver these through a variety of (blended) didactic methods such as lectures and seminar sessions, both online and on campus;
- Student experience is at the heart of what we do. You will therefore be expected to collect and analyse student’s feedback and support students through their learning journey;
- You will design and deliver appropriate assessments in line with the Educational Programme Plan;
- Depending on your experience you will either be expected to work as part of a teaching team or to independently lead modules;
- You will engage in a selection of programme related committees such as Assessment Committee or Work Field Advisory Committee;
Do you want to know more about the programme and the faculty?
- The Faculty of Health, Nutrition & Sports aims to connect education and research to societal needs on local, national and international levels. Our faculty combines seven programmes: Nutrition & Dietetics, Skin Therapy, Nursing, Physical Education, Human Movement Technology, Sport Studies (Dutch track) and ISPM (International track). All programmes educate a new generation of health, nutrition and sports professionals;
- The Sport Studies Program has two tracks, Sportkunde and the ISPM programme. The programs are connected to each other;
- International Sport Management is a three year Bachelor degree programme and was established in 2017. Our growing programme has an international student population with over 30 different nationalities. Our current first year cohort consists of 130 students;
- The content of the programme is based on 3 streams: Management, Sport and Society and Professional Development. The delivery of the content, together with the international staff (current staff members from Finland, Brazil, UK, Turkey, Austria, Greece and The Netherlands) and student population, embodies the international dimensions of the programme;
- On campus classes are offered in the state-of-the-art Sport Campus Zuiderpark in The Hague.
What can you expect from us?
- We really want you to be successful as a lecturer and that you enjoy yourself at THUAS. That is why we offer you:
- An appointment as soon as possible in a temporary post for the period of one year (0.6 fte – 1.0 fte) with an option for extension (D4) in salary scale 11;
- A salary of a minimum of € 3,881,09 and a maximum of € 5,332,48 for a full working week, excluding 8% vacation allowance. (Our terms of employment are in accordance with our labour agreement);
- A guaranteed end-of-year pay of 8.3%.
