What will you do?
You will support the Data Science research group, HBO-ICT programme, and the new UNESCO Chair in AI and Data Science for Society, the Faculty of IT &Design of The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the position of a Media Officer.
You will author content around research activities, such as publications, communication content, annual reports, and other communication and networking materials. You will arrange interviews, compile analytics and metrics, and maintain/curate a narrative of media coverage.

You will be responsible for:
  1. The management and the operation of educational digital division for HBO-ICT.
  2. Planning an e-learning programme and laying a bridge between researchers in the UNESCO Chair and the educational program for HBO-ICT.
  3. Facilitating the e-learning program of ITD and helping generate educational content for internal use in the university and to support the external community of partners and the public.
  4. Manage the digital presence of the UNESCO Chair.
  5. Coordinate communication with external partners.
  6. Give shape and form to the corporate identity of the UNESCO Chair of AI and Data Science, and maintain its image to the outside world.
  7. Generate and manage media content. Maintain the DataInnovationHub.eu website and social media platforms for the Data Science research group.

Your profile
We want you to be successful as a communication officer in this position. We look forward to read more about your experience. Furthermore we would like to see in your resume that you have:
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role within a large organization;
  • Experience in developing content-rich websites, content management systems, user experience and conversion optimization;
  • Interpret website statistics;
  • Experience in SEO;
  • A good command of the English language, both spoken and written;
  • Experience in the production of audio/visual rich multimedia content;
  • Experience in using social media channels and online communication tools;
  • Affinity with education and research;
  • Knowledge of and experience within a university or higher education institution or possibly another large not-for-profit organization;
  • Experience working with Google Analytics.
What we offer
  • A key role in an ambitious, dynamic and professional team;
  • An appointment of 0,8 FTE, 32 hours in a temporary position for a period of one year, starting February 2023 (or earlier if possible). Extension of the appointment depends on the organizational, educational and financial conditions;
  • A salary between € 3.018,49 and € 4.569,57 gross per month (scale 10) for a full-time work week;
  • 8% holiday pay;
  • A guaranteed end of year pay of 8.3%;
  • The employment conditions are in line with the Collective Labour Agreement for higher professional education;
